An autopsy confirms two-year-old Chase Martens died of drowning.
 
The toddler's body was found in a creek near his parents home around Austin, Manitoba on Saturday. He had been missing since Tuesday.
 
A statement by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection on the behalf of the family says they are devastated, and asks for privacy while they grieve.
 
The family also thanked searchers, and said though they are heartbroken they are overwhelmed by the love and kindness of the community.
