The Public Utilities Board approved interim rates in the RM, putting the price at $2.87 per cubic meter.

Minimum quarterly charges are $75.11 based on 13.6 cubic meters.

RM CAO Laura Murray says the future connection fee is $17,000 but after the initial round of connections there will be additional installation costs.

"Because right now the contractors are in the area, so while they're here they've got their tendered prices... and later on if we have to bring someone in, it's not going to be at the same tendered rate."

Murray says there is a waiting list for people now looking to connect to the water line.

"We have added an additional 13 customers since the original. Those people are able to connect but they are not able to finance it on their taxes, they're going to have to find their own financing. Right now we're pretty much at the end of our money."

Murray says if, at the end of the current phase, there is still money left, the RM will call to see who wants on.
