Carter Sawchuk played the role of overtime hero tonight and the Dauphin Kings won their seventh straight game, 5-4.

In a back and forth affair, Sawchuk took a pass from Cole Dekoninck in front and he put it past Cooper Hatfield to give Dauphin two points.

7:36 into the game, the Blues took a 1-0 lead. The Kings rebounded at the 12:37 mark. Brayden Pawluk scored his second goal in as many games to tie it up.

With just less than four minutes left, the Blues would score to take a 2-1 lead, but Dauphin would respond.

With 24 seconds left in the first, Grady Hobbs would score his 20th of the season to tie the game after 20.

This time it was Dauphin’s turn to take a lead. At the 6:44 mark, Brayden Pawluk scored his second of the game to give Dauphin a 3-2 lead. 

With less than five left in the second, the Blues tied the game at three after 40.

Jaxon Heeney would score to give Dauphin a 4-3 lead with just more than 10 minutes left in the third.

Winnipeg, however, would tie the game with just 49 second straight left as it was overtime bound.

With 47 seconds left in overtime, Sawchuk would seal it.

Dauphin will look to win their eighth straight on Sunday.
