JOHN MELLENCAMP - SONS IN TROUBLE
John Mellencamp's sons were involved in a fight early Sunday in Bloomington, Indiana, that resulted in one of them getting arrested. Police say 22-year-old Speck Mellencamp was arrested for public intoxication and resisting law enforcement.
Police say he was ``very belligerent and unco-operative.''
Twenty-three-year-old Hud Mellencamp told police a man attacked him.
The brothers were involved in a fight at a party in 2013 and both were charged with felony battery. Speck Mellencamp ended up serving
96 hours in jail.
BRAD WILK - ``SETH MEYERS''
Drummer Brad Wilk of Rage Against The Machine and now of Prophets of Rage will sit in with the house band on ``Late Night With Seth Meyers'' all next week. Prophets of Rage, which also includes Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, Chuck D, B-Real and D-J Lord, will put out an album on Sept. 15th. Wilk also is working on a project with his girlfriend, Juliette Lewis.
ED SHEERAN - ``GAME OF THRONES''
Producers of ``Game of Thrones'' made good on a promise made to one of the series' stars _ by bringing Ed Sheeran into the mix. Turns out Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark in the H-B-O fantasy drama, is a big Sheeran fan. And producers promised in the spring that they'd try to get him into the series somehow.
Mission accomplished: Sheeran played a Lannister soldier leading a group in song in Sunday's season premiere. Sheeran posted images of himself with Williams and other cast members on his Instagram account yesterday.
AARON CARTER - PROFILED
Aaron Carter is slamming both authorities in Georgia and his own brother following his arrest on marijuana charges over the weekend. Carter released a statement saying he was targeted for his celebrity and he has a license for medical marijuana for ``long standing anxiety.'' Captain Floyd Canup of the Habersham County Sheriff's Department says Georgia law does not allow for the kind of marijuana Carter had on him. Canup says it wasn't ``the green leafy type.'' Canup also says Carter was driving all over the road, and the deputy's report describes Carter's eyes as bloodshot, watery and glazed. Meanwhile, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys offered his support to his brother on Twitter.
Aaron's response is that if Nick truly cared, he would have called directly instead of making it about himself in a public forum.
``GAME OF THRONES'' - CELEBRITY APPEARANCES
If you're a ``Game of Thrones'' fans who likes pop music, you were excited to see Ed Sheeran's cameo in Sunday's episode. If you're a ``Game of Thrones'' fan who follows rock music, it was the appearance by Mastodon drummer Brann Dailor that caught your eye. Sheeran appeared as a Lannister soldier leading a group in song. He posted a screen shot of himself on Instagram, as well as another photo with show star Maisie Williams. Dailor was a White Walker in the scene with the fog rolling in. The rest of Mastodon will likely appear in an upcoming episode. Mastodon appeared as wildlings in season five of ``Game of Thrones.''
GARTH BROOKS - HONEYMOON COUPLE
A Dallas-area man decided to propose to his girlfriend at a Garth Brooks concert and Brooks was the first to offer a wedding gift. WFAA-TV reports Drew Bargsley proposed to Chelsea Townsend as Brooks performed ``Unanswered Prayers'' during his Oklahoma City concert Saturday. Brooks noticed and stopped the song to offer his congratulations. Brooks also offered to pay for their honeymoon, if they choose to go to Hawaii. He ran it past his wife, Trisha Yearwood, who approved and added, ``Nobody else can get engaged tonight.''
DAN AUERBACH - NASHVILLE
Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys says building a studio in Nashville was like ``Field of Dreams.'' He says he just wanted to have a studio among the ones that made some of his favourite records. He built it, and they came. Auerbach says now he makes music with the top players in Nashville who have grown up playing songs and have dedicated their lives to making records. He says he's lucky to be able to tap into such a talent pool.
BRITNEY SPEARS - 22nd PERFUME
Britney Spears tells People magazine each of her fragrances reflect a different side of her personality and her passions. She sure has a lot of them. She just launched her 22nd fragrance, V-I-P Private Show -- not to be confused with Private Show, which was last summer's perfume from Spears. V-I-P Private Show is described as smelling like ``blood orange, apple, mango nectar, violet leaf, orange blossom, magnolia, raspberry wood, golden amber and velvet.''
