What a morning it turned out to be for Dauphin's Lane Prokopowich inside of Credit Union Place.

First up, Lane helped Team Serena Gray-Withers advance to the page playoff with a 10-8 win in their final round-robin game. They finished with a record of 6-1 heading into the four-team playoff.

Everyone that knows Lane and gets to curl against her knows how great of a person she is and she's been recognized for it.

Shortly after making the playoffs, Prokopowich was presented with the Susan Galbraith Sportsmanship Award.

"It feels absoultely amazing to win the award. It makes me so, so happy," said Prokopowich. "It feels really good that other players in the tournament think highly of me."

"There are so many great people out here, it's truly an honour to win this," she added.

Playoff seedings have yet to be determined, but Lane will compete in them right in her hometown.

"It's like a dream come true for me, I've never done this well at the provincials," she concluded.

Lane's coach, Clint Cullen was presented with the junior women's coaches award. Clint lived in Swan River for 14 years and it's where his daughters began curling
