The victory also snapped Virden's four game winning streak, the same streak length the Winkler Flyers had last Sunday when the Kings beat them 4-2.
Dauphin carrier their effort over from Sunday's decision over the Flyers. It was another full 60 minute effort with the club coming out hot in the opening few minutes. They were eventually rewarded later in the first period when Kirklan Lycar notched his fourteenth of the season.
In the second period the Kings grabbed a 2-0 advantage when Thomas Lenchyshyn (4) snapped one past Patrick Zubick. The Oil Capitals would get a goal from Mack Hardy late in the middle frame to cut the lead in half.
The third period saw both teams get chances, but neither could finish. As the contest wore on you could tell the two clubs were starting to get annoyed with each other and it boiled over after the tilt when shenanigans ensued. Nothing big really came out of the gathering, but it should make Saturday's affair in Virden much more interesting.
