So much, that according to Forbes, Beyonce is the highest paid woman in music. The magazine reports Beyonce earned 105-million dollars during the year long stretch from June 2016 to June of this year. Her earnings were boosted by her ``Formation'' tour last year. Forbes says it grossed 250-million dollars _ in other words, a quarter of a billion dollars. MUSIC NEWS: MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2017 MEL TILLIS DIES Pam Tillis is ``deeply saddened'' at the death of her father, Mel Tillis, over the weekend. Pam Tillis calls her father's passing ``sudden and unexpected.'' She says in a statement on Facebook her father was ``a master songwriter, brilliant comedian and beloved father.'' Mel Tillis died early yesterday at a hospital in Ocala, Florida, at the age of 85. He dealt with intestinal issues since last year, but the suspected cause of death is respiratory failure. MUSIC NEWS: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2017 MELISSA ETHERIDGE - GUILTY PLEA Melissa Etheridge has been fined 750-dollars and ordered to serve unsupervised probation for a misdemeanour charge of possessing marijuana. Etheridge's lawyer entered a guilty plea on her behalf Tuesday in Bowbells, North Dakota. She was arrested in August when her tour bus crossed from Canada into the U-S and investigators found marijuana on board. KMOT-TV reports Etheridge's attorney says she intended to apply for a medical marijuana license in North Dakota. She has used marijuana to treat her breast cancer. --- STONE TEMPLE PILOTS - NEW SINGER After Stone Temple Pilots got more than 15-thousand online applications to be their new lead singer, they went with a guy who did not apply that way. MUSIC NEWS: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2017 MEEK MILL - APPEAL Meek Mill's lawyers want the judge in his case to step down. Yesterday, his lawyers asked Commons Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley to recuse herself before Mill appeals his sentence. Last week, she sentenced Mill last week to two to four years in prison for violating probation on a gun and drugs case. Mill's lawyers say Brinkley overstepped her bounds as a judge several times. One example they gave was that she suggested Mill record a version of ``On Bended Knee'' by Boyz II Men and mention her in it.
