U2's Bono may never play guitar again

Music News: Friday, January 2, 2015 Bono may never play guitar again Bono says he may never play guitar again due to injuries suffered in a New York City cycling accident. The U2 singer suffered multiple injuries, including fractures to his left eye socket, shoulder blade and left elbow, when he crashed his bike in Central Park in November. He required hours of surgery after what doctors called a ``high-energy bicycle accident.'' Writing on the band's website Thursday, Bono said that ``recovery has been more difficult than I thought. As I write this, it is not clear that I will ever play guitar again.'' He added that his bandmates ``have reminded me that neither they nor Western civilization are depending on this.'' Bono said he would ``have to concentrate hard'' to be ready for U2's planned tour later this year. --- PARAMORE'S HAYLEY WILLIAMS AND NEW FOUND GLORY'S CHAD GILBERT…
Infusing elements of Country and Rock, Chris Ising has produced a sound that is not only uniquely his own, but also recognizably his own. Although the idea of merging the two genres is not new and has produced chart topping results for the likes of Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and many others, the riffs and melodic elements written by Chris don't sound like any other country artist. Right from the opening lines and the drop D tuning you know you are listening to Chris Ising. Chris hails from Winnipeg, where the winters are long and as a teenager you are either out in the bone chilling cold playing hockey or in the basement with a guitar in hand. Since the age of seven music has played an immense role in Chris’ life. It was then that his parents thought it time to sign Chris and his two brothers up for…

Music News: Tuesday, December 23, 2014 JOE COCKER - OBIT When he sang on stage, Joe Cocker heaved and jerked so much, it looked like he was having a seizure. But he once said there was something behind all that twitching and moving around. He said he always imagined himself playing an invisible piano or guitar when he sang -- and the release of that pent up energy was his way of compensating for not playing an instrument. Between the moves and the voice -- at once gravely and emotional -- Joe Cocker brought to life songs like ``You Are So Beautiful,'' ''Up Where We Belong`` and ''A Little Help From My Friends`` -- a take on the Beatles' classic that punctuated the legendary Woodstock music festival in 1969. Cocker was 70 and suffered from lung cancer. --- JOE COCKER - REACTION Paul McCartney says he was awed when he…
