MUSIC NEWS BLUE-RODEO Blue Rodeo stalwarts Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor both agree that Cuddy's first attempt at making Christmas music influenced by big-band yuletide tunes wasn't a smash success. So the band regrouped for the recently released ``A Merrie Christmas to You,'' a record that offers a far more Blue Christmas experience. Cuddy admits the album represents some of the things that people actually go through in the season, saying, ``It's not all mistletoe and eggnog.'' He admits that there are a lot of songs that have longing in them and there are a lot of songs where people try to rise above difficulties in their lives -- ``usually monetary difficulties.'' --- ECHOSMITH DEAL WITH NEWFOUND COOLNESS Echosmith sing about wishing they were like the cool kids. Are you a Pink Floyd fan?

This Saturday at 10:05 pm we'll broadcast the Pink Floyd "Endless River" radio special. The Endless River is based on material recorded in 1993 and 1994 during the Division Bell recording. The sessions were held at Britannia Row Studios and aboard the Astoria, where Pink Floyd's A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and Gilmour's On an Island (2006) were also partly recorded. In 1994, Wright said the band had recorded "four 90-minute DATs of five or six hours of music. The hardest thing was to throw things out and decide what we're gonna work on ... but they are not lost. They are in my head, they are in Dave's head."[20] In the same year, Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson edited the material, described by Mason as ambient music, to an hour-long composition tentatively titled The Big Spliff.[21] Pink Floyd decided not to release it.[22] In 2012, Gilmour and Mason…
