It's Waste Reduction Week across the Parkland

It`s Waste Reduction Week in Manitoba. All across the Parkland residents are encouraged to take action on climate change and think about ways to become more environmentally conscious.

Waste Reduction Week runs from today until Sunday. As part of the government`s campaign, they have created a new website called WasteWise. You can find information on waste management and recycling at www.gov.mb.ca/sd/wastewise.

Along with Waste Reduction Week, nominations are now being accepted for the 2017 Manitoba Excellence in Sustainability awards. Parkland residents are able to nominate individuals for awards recognizing action on climate change, sustainability in water and natural area stewardship, and champion for sustainably, among others.

The deadline to nominate someone is December 8th.
