Thompson man charged after pursuit with RCMP last weekend

A Thompson man has been charged after leading RCMP on a car chase on Highway 6 last weekend.

26-year-old Abrahm Saunders was driving a vehicle with stolen plates and while being followed by police he threw money and marihuana out the driver side window. Eventually, he entered the ditch and fled into the woods. Police from Grand Rapids and Ashern along with RCMP Police dog Services found him and arrested him.


He faces multiple charges including possessing property obtained by crime and careless driving.


The investigation continues and more charges could be pending.
