New Emergency Alert System Comes to Dauphin

A new emergency alert system is getting ready to inform RM residents of emergencies.

The RM of Dauphin is setting up a new system called “Connect – By All-Net” that will allow the RM to send out emergency alerts via a whole bunch of methods. Laura Murray, the Chief Administrative Officer, talks about the program.

“Connect – By All-Net will give the RM of Dauphin a method to reach the ratepayers quicker, faster, with information that we might have regarding our water supply, or perhaps emergencies, it can be connected through the Federal National Alerting System. We’re just hoping that it will save staff a lot of time in reaching our ratepayers.”

The RM is now in the process of collecting all the information from ratepayers, like phone numbers, before the system comes online.
