Carjacking in Portage La Prairie

An armed carjacking in Portage la Prairie left a man injured, and without a vehicle.

 

A suspect approached a parked, idling vehicle, got in, pulled out a firearm, hit the male driver with it and then took off with the vehicle.

The 47-year-old driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mounties are still searching for the suspect and the van, described as a red Dodge Caravan.
