Radar speed sign slowing people down

The City of Dauphin has a new way to slow people down.

They recently bought a new radar speed sign. In its first location Hawthorne Avenue East, the results have seen a reduction in people speeding.

Brad Collett says the stats show before the sign was activated almost 1600 people dove past and 75 people sped by the sign.

But when the city turned it on, that number dropped to 69 with almost 3 thousand people going by. That’s almost a 50 % decrease in people speeding by.
With the sign actively working the average speed of people driving by is 32 km/h.
The New radar speed sign can be found on Mountain Road, north of River Avenue.
