No appeal of Mark Grant's acquittal in death of Winnipeg woman

The Crown has decided not to appeal the acquittal of Mark Edward Grant.

 

This means the years of legal proceedings in the death of a Winnipeg teenager,  Candace Derksen, in 1984 has come to an end. Earlier this year a new trial was held where the court of queen’s bench ruled the DNA evidence was flawed.

A written statement from Manitoba justice says the crown is not appealing that verdict.
