One person is dead and another uninjured in a roll-over this morning just south of Ashern.

An SUV was driving northbound around 2:30 when it rolled into the ditch.

A 42-year-old female driver from Powerview was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle and later succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

The 53-year-old male passenger from Hollow Water First Nation was not injured. It’s not known at this time if he was wearing his seatbelt.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision.

Police continue to investigate.
