Kings sign 17-year-old Knee

As the 2017 regular season approaches, the Dauphin Kings have signed 17-year-old Jaymes Knee to their roster for the upcoming season.

"We've had him on our list for a few years now," said Marc Berry, Head Coach and GM of the Kings. "We've had him out to all of our camps, and we've watched him play some pretty good Midget hockey in Brandon. He's showed that he's ready to make the next step and play junior hockey."

Last year, Knee spent the season with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Manitoba Midget AAA hockey league.

In 43 games, Knee put up 48 points, 22 of them being goals, which put him in third in team scoring. He then impressed in the playoffs, putting up 13 points in seven playoff games.

"He's an intelligent player, and he has a great skill set," said Berry. "He has a great release. He will be great on our special teams, and he puts the work in. We're excited to add him to our group."

The Kings hit the ice once again tomorrow in preseason action, as they take on the Neepawa Natives at Credit Union Place.
