CFL implements rule changes to improve player safety

The Canadian Football League has made some big changes, one of which will come into effect immediately, while one will come into effect next season.

Once training camp is complete, teams will no longer be able to have full contact practice. Before the rule, each team was allowed 17 full contact practices throughout the year.

Beginning next year, the CFL will also implement an additional bye week, increasing the length of the regular season to 21 weeks. This now means each team will receive three bye weeks, instead of the current two.

Both rule changes are to enhance player safety.
