"This is going to be a really fun one today," said Shayne Montpetit, Head Coach of the Clippers football team. "Moosomin is our biggest rival because they have a really good junior program just like we do. It makes it really competitive. It's going to be a really good game."
Dauphin has steamrolled through their first two opponents, beating Swan Valley, 63-0 in their home opener, and following that up with a 43-14 win over Southwest last week.
"Everyone is jelling really well," said Montpetit. "This is a veteran team, and they know not to get too cocky. This game will determine home field advantage through the playoffs.
Throughout the first two games, Dauphin has done a great job of staying physical from the start to the end, and they have never given up, despite having huge leads at the end of games.
"We have to focus on ourselves once again today," said Montpetit. "Moosomin is big and they're tough and they like to pound the ball. We can't control what they do, but we can control what we do. If we play our game, fly around and use our skill, we'll be alright."
Kickoff between the Clippers and Moosomin takes place this afternoon at 4:30 and you can watch free of charge.
"Today might be the best high school football game you will see all year," said Montpetit. "Both teams have boatloads of grade 12's, they love to hit and like to have fun on the field. It's going to be really fun to watch.
Dauphin is 1-0 on home field and has a league-high 106 points in their two games while giving up just 14.
