Lemieux grew up in Dauphin and played for the Kings in the 1968-70 season.
"For me, I'm coming back to Dauphin to get together with some of the players I used to play with," said Lemieux. "I also want to give back a little bit, in any way possible. To be a Dauphin King after growing up in Dauphin was a dream. There was definitely a lot of pride to wear the Kings jersey."
After playing for the Kings, Lemieux was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1970 season.
"If you're a good player and you're able to make the team, you can contribute on the ice to make sure the team wins, which I was able to do," said Lemieux. "Sport is very important to my family and always has been. The Dauphin Kings mean a lot for the community. It gives local youth something to strive for to try and achieve. Sport has always played an important role to help kids stay out of trouble."
Lemieux will suit up on Team Pernarowski Accounting as they take on Team Parkland Source for Sports on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Credit Union Place.
