Kings thumped, 10-3

The Dauphin Kings kicked off their regular season on Friday evening in Virden, and after 60 minutes, the Oil Capitals earned a 10-3 win over the visiting Kings.

1st Period

The Oil Capitals opened up the scoring 7:20 into the game off the stick of Jeran Knorr who picked up a rebound and squeaked it past Brady Weiss.

The Kings tied it just over two minutes later as Mark Ziobro scored his first of the season as he fired a puck off the Oil Capitals defender that redirected over the shoulder of Riley McVeigh.

From there, it was all Oil Capitals, as they added three more goals in the last seven minutes of the opening period to take a 4-1 lead after 20.

2nd Period

It was a disaster of a start for the Dauphin Kings to kick off the second as the Oil Capitals scored two goals in the periods first 1:07 as they saw their deficit increase to five goals at 6-1.

The Kings came back with two goals of their own of the sticks of Nick Ness and Riese Gaber but that was it for the Kings.

The Oil Capitals scored one more in the period to take a 7-3 lead after 40.

3rd Period

In the third period, the Oil Capitals continued with their pressure scoring three more times, including Ben Dalke who picked up a goal to record his hat-trick.

Game Facts

Brady Weiss was pulled early in the second period after allowing six goals on 25 shots for the Kings.
