Former Parkland Ranger enjoying success at NCAA level

From the Parkland Rangers Midget AAA team to the Swan Valley Stampeders, to the Nanaimo Clippers, and now to the Bentley University Falcons, Swan River's Jayson Argue has done it all.

Argue who was born in Swan River, played for the Rangers back in 2009-10, where he suited up in 32 games, recording a 4.04 G.A.A and a .886 save percentage.

"Parkland as a program was taking a turn for the better when I got there," said Argue. "We didn't have a lot of success, but it was a professional program. Playing for Parkland definitely helped me become the goalie I am now."

After Parkland, Argue played four seasons of junior hockey between Swan Valley and Nanaimo and is now going into his senior year with the Falcons, who play in the Atlantic Hockey Conference NCAA Division One.

"There have been a lot of great moments," said Argue. "I got a scholarship, so it was nice to be able to come here to continue my education, and also play the sport I love. It's really great."

During his time as a Falcon, Argue even got to play at Fenway Park when his Falcons took on Army in front of a packed crowd.

"We won that game 2-1, and it was definitely the coolest thing I've ever been a part of," said Argue. "I've never gotten chills during a national anthem before, but this one definitely took my breath away. I looked up and saw our Falcons logo on top of the green monster. It was definitely a breathtaking moment for me."

The Swan River native and the rest of the Falcons enter the Atlantic Hockey rankings this year as the eighth-ranked team.
