"Making the Rangers is a great feeling," said Luhowy. "I'm looking forward to the season and getting things going with the new team."
Although Lane will not play tonight, he is still excited for the boys.
"If the boys play the way I know they can, they can win this game."
Hitting more, winning more faceoffs and fitting well into the team system are a few things Lane is looking forward to improving on this season.
Lane's uncle, Ross Lonsberry played 968 games in the NHL over his career which included stints with Boston, Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh.
Over those 968 games, he recorded 566 points and racked up 806 penalty minutes.
He played another 100 games in the playoffs, recording 46 points and 87 penalty minutes.
