Dauphin's William Hlady enjoying success early on playing College Baseball

Dauphin's William Hlady finally got to play in game action over the weekend at the Iowa Wesleyan Tigers intrasquad games, and the Dauphin native had much success.

Hlady pitched six innings over two games, and struck out eight batters and did not give up a run.

"Everything is going really good over here so far," said Hlady. "I just had success by throwing pitches in the corners, and knowing when to throw hard, and take some off of my pitches.

Before playing for the Tigers, Hlady spent time with the AA Dauphin Devil Rays, and Parkland AAA team this past summer.

"It's been really fun playing against some higher level competition," said Hlady. "It's just been a great experience.

The Tigers kick off their regular season on February 24 against Lawrence University.

"I want to be ready by the Spring," said Hlady. "I want to be one of the better starters on the team."

The Tigers home opener is on March 28 against Principia College.
