Rangers rebound with 3-2 win against Cougars

Less than 24 hours after falling 6-2 against the Selects, the Parkland Rangers rebounded with a 3-2 win against the Southwest Cougars on Sunday afternoon at Credit Union Place.

The Cougars opened the scoring at the 14:26 mark, but the Rangers quickly erased the one-goal deficit and took their own lead.

At the 14:49 mark, Carter Cockburn continued his success early this season as he tied up the game, and under two minutes later, Taron Topham scored for the Rangers as the team took a 2-1 lead and that's where it stood after 20 minutes.

Early in the second period, the Cougars tied the game at two, but Kurtis Luke stormed back for the Rangers just over seven minutes later, as the Rangers took a 3-2 lead.

No goals were scored in the third, as the Rangers ended up winning, 3-2.

Rory Campbell made 34 saves on 36 shots to pick up the win for the Rangers.
