Kings lose battle to Stamps, 2-1

It was a battle from minute one to 60, but the Swan Valley Stampeders will be the only team rewarded as they will head back home winners, as they beat the Kings, 2-1 on Tuesday night at Credit Union Place.

1st Period

It wasn't the start the Kings wanted, as the Stampeders were the first team to hit the scoreboard when Tanner Garnham beat Brennan Kitchen, and that was the only scoring in the first as the Stamps led 1-0 after 20.

2nd Period

After being held to no goals in the first, it didn't take the Kings long in the second period to tie it up. McCullough Park tied it up 2:05 into the second with assists going to Matt Pitchenese and Riley Shamray.

That was the lone goal in the period as the two teams headed to the final 20, tied at 1.

3rd Period

The Kings dominated the Stampeders in the third period, but they couldn't capitalize, and the Stamps could as they scored the game-winner with just 4:21 left as they walked away with two points.

Game Facts

The Kings outshot the Stamps, 38-28.

The Kings are back in action on Friday against the Winnipeg Blues.
