Hale-Menard and Baker battling in Austria

When 8:30 rolls around tomorrow morning in Austria, Dauphin's Lisa Hale-Menard, and Ray Baker will be battling to make the playoffs in the World Curling Tour Austrian Mixed Doubles Cup.

The duo is battling for points as they look to qualify for the Olympic Mixed Doubles Trials that will be held in Portage from January 3-7, 2018.

In the first two games of their tournament, the team is 1-1 and can advance to the playoffs with a win in their final round-robin which comes against Eniko Szabo and Balazs Foti of Hungary, who are 0-2 heading into that match.

"I wouldn't say we're eliminated from the Trials yet," said Hale-Menard. "We need to have a good finish that's for sure, and then get some help."

After this weekend, the duo will head to Geising, Germany to take part in another Mixed Doubles event next weekend.

"This is our third trip over to Europe to play in this kind of competition," said Hale-Menard. "The events over here are phenomenal. The ice is great, and the competition is good as well."

Stay tuned here to 730CKDM to see how the team does this weekend, and next.
