Clippers JV Girls Volleyball Heading to Portage

The Dauphin Clippers Junior Varsity girls volleyball team will continue their season this weekend as they head to Portage for the Pride of the Prairie tournament.

The team played the Gilbert Plains JV girls a couple of weeks ago in what was their last tune-up match heading into this tournament, and the Trojans won all three sets.

"We were missing one of our best players which hurt us," said Ted Rea, Head Coach of the Clippers. "But they're probably one of the top AA teams in the province. We came out flat, but we took some things out of those games, and now we're hoping we can use what we took out heading into this weekend."

The Clippers will have a busy round-robin, playing six games, four of which will take place today.

Here is the full schedule:

4:50 p.m. Vs Boissevain

5:40 p.m. Vs Virden #2

7:20 p.m. Vs Erickson

9:00 p.m. Vs Oak Park

Saturday

9:20 a.m. Vs College Beliveau

10:10 a.m. Vs Portage (Gr.9)

More

"We definitely want to start with placing in the top two in our pool," said Rea. "From there, we'll see what happens, but we have to put everything we have into this tournament."

You can stay tuned here to 730CKDM for results throughout the weekend.
