Gilbert Plains Trojans JV Girls Volleyball Ranked #1

After dominating the JV girls tournament in Killarney last weekend, the Gilbert Plains Trojans JV girls volleyball team are now the #1 ranked team in the province.

"It's nice to see the roles that every girl brings to the court and gym every day," said Daniel Lehman, Head Coach of the team. "Everyone this year has really bought into what their role is on the team. We have nine girls that bring a great attitude, and they always rise to the occasion when they need to."

Last week, the Trojans easily dispatched of the previous top three ranked teams in the province in the Major Pratt Trojans (1), Steinbach Christian Flames (3) and the Warren Wildcats (2).

The Trojans also beat the previously fifth-ranked Killarney Raiders who are now ranked in seventh.

"As a team, this is something we knew we could achieve," said Lehman. "But it's not about knowing, it's about doing, and we did it."

The team will next be in action on November 14 when they host the Zone Championships which gives the winner a berth to provincials.
