Kings Lose Sixth Straight

The Dauphin Kings showed signs of excellence on Saturday night but weren't consistent for 60 minutes as they fell 8-3 against the Virden Oil Capitals.

One night prior, the Oil Capitals pummeled the Kings, 8-1 in Virden.

1st Period

It was a tough start to the game for the Kings as the Oil Capitals opened the scoring 1:20 into the game.

That didn't last long, though, as Kyle Oleksiuk tied up the game with a snapshot from a weird angle that beat Virden's keeper, Riley McVeigh.

Dauphin took a 2-1 lead four minutes later as McCullough Park scored his fourth of the season at the 5:45 mark, but Kyle Salaway came right back for the Oil Capitals with two quick goals as Virden took a 3-2 lead.

Tristen Cross increased the Oil Capitals lead to 4-2, but Riley Shamray cut that in half as the Kings trailed 4-3 after 20.

2nd Period

Just one second period goal saw the Oil Capitals take a 5-3 lead after 40.

3rd Period

In the third, the Oil Capitals scored four more and the Kings failed to score as the Oil Capitals swept the Kings in the home and home.
