PMHA Hosting Female Peewee Prospects Development Program

The Parkland Minor Hockey Association will be hosting Hockey Manitoba’s Female Peewee Prospects development program for the 2017/18 season.

This development program is open to all first and second year Female Peewee players (YOB: 2005 and 2006).

The Female Peewee Prospects program has been developed to provide competitive skill development. The program is designed as an introduction to the Hockey Manitoba U-16 and U-18 Program of Excellence. The mission of this program is to introduce prospective U-18 players to the concepts and skills required to play AAA and at the National level before their entrance into the Hockey Manitoba Program of Excellence. The 2017/18 program will be delivered in two phases. 

PHASE 1 – Is open to all interested peewee players and will provide one session a month from November 2017 through February 2018, for a total of four sessions. The fee to participate in Phase 1 is $70 per participant. Players must register for the Phase 1 program to be eligible to participate in the Phase 2 program. Dates and locations of the Phase 1 program are as follows:

PHASE 2 – Will involve a player selection/ tryout in March from the registrants of the Phase 1 program, as participation in Phase 2 is restricted to a limited number of players. Players selected for Phase 2 will participate in two skill sessions per week for the month of April in preparation for the Female Peewee Prospects tournament in Portage la Prairie at the end of April. Additional information (including the cost of Phase 2) will be provided by Hockey Manitoba at a later date.

PMHA is currently seeking coaching staff interested in participating in the delivery of this program. Hockey Manitoba will provide all coaching staff with the skills and development curriculum to lead the program sessions. Please contact Phil Fafard for more information.
