Dauphin's Hale-Menard Enjoying Canadian Mixed Curling Championships!
Dauphin's Lisa Hale-Menard was on the spare list for the Canadian Mixed Curling Championships, and because of a team injury, she was inserted into the Manitoba lineup.
"It's been a great experience so far," said Hale-Menard. "Team Dunstone has been wonderful to play for. It's been a little tricky because I'm playing third and I've never played with the skip, so that makes it a little tough, but everyone is starting to get to know each other a little better."
The team is currently 1-2 after losing this morning against the Northwest Territories.
"It was a heartbreaking loss this morning," said Hale-Menard. "We had a critical shot in the seventh that picked, and that took the end away from us."
The team now takes on Saskatchewan this afternoon at 2:30.
"We just have to find a way to rebound after that tough loss," said Hale-Menard. "Saskatchewan is struggling out of the gate, so it should be interesting."

Dauphin's Blaire De La Mare has been named Assiniboine Community College's "Cougar of the Week".
It's been quite the week for Dauphin's Zach Grouette as he didn't only help the Parkland Rangers to two wins, but he was named the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League's Player of the Week.
The Dauphin Kings haven't had many days this week where they haven't had a game, but today is one of those days as they prepare for the Neepawa Natives tomorrow night at the Yellowhead Centre.
