The Parkland Super League of Curling wrapped up last night at the Dauphin Curling Club, and team Greg Todoruk are the 2017-2018 Champions.

The foursome, consisting of skip Greg Todoruk, third Dwight Bottrell, second Darcy Todoruk, and lead Barrett Procyshyn, beat Mossey River Inn, skipped by Glenn Toews, in the final, 5-4.

"It's a great feeling," said Greg Todoruk. "It's definitely not an easy thing to do. We looked back and not often has the number one and two seed advanced to the finals, so that just shows how difficult it is. We are all really happy about it."

Earlier in the day, Todoruk and his foursome beat South Fork AG, skipped by Lorne Orpin, 8-2, in the semifinals.

This year, the league featured 10 teams from around the Parkland, playing once again in a pay-per-win format, and the top seven teams made the playoff round, with a tiebreaker being played this year to determine the top six teams that advanced to the quarterfinals.

"It was very even," said Todoruk. "Any team could beat any team on any given night, so it was great that way."

The Parkland Super League of Curling will return once again for another season next winter, and you can get in on the action, even if you weren't in the league this year.

"It's open to any teams," said Todoruk. "Mixed, men's, ladies, or seniors, just anyone is welcome to join. It's definitely good for any team who is looking to qualify for provincials because you get some competitive games in, and you don't need to travel to bonspiels. And you're playing for some money, which makes it a little more competitive that way as well."

Glenn Toews advanced to the finals by beating WJ Robertson, skipped by Brian Preston, 7-5, in the semifinals.
