In two days Dauphin's Mia Zamrykut will be heading to Thompson for the Manitoba Winter Games.

"It's a really good feeling," said Zamrykut. "I had to beat out a lot of other kids, so it's just a great feeling to be chosen to go to the Games and represent Dauphin."

Zamrykut will compete in the swimming competition in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m fly, 200m IM, 100m fly, and 100m backstroke races.

"I'm going to try my hardest to get my western time so I can compete in more events," said Zamrykut. "I'm also going to try to win some medals, and just improve myself every time out."

Mia was at the Manitoba Summer Games in 2016, and now she can't wait to head to the Winter Games.

"I'm really looking forward to hanging out with my team," said Zamrykut. "The Summer Games were so much fun, and I can't wait to have fun at this one as well. It's also going to be a lot of fun seeing my friends from Winnipeg and Brandon."

Mia and the rest of her team kick off their swimming competition on March 7 at the Norplex Swimming Pool.
