The Dauphin Kings and the Dauphin Friendship Centre once again came together this season for the "Food for Thought Progam".
"Every Thursday, the kids go to all the elementary schools in and around town and deliver hot lunches," said Christian Laughland, Marketing Director and Media Relations for the Kings. "The players also hang out with the kids, and read them books so it's been a really good thing, and a fun thing to be a part of."
This year's program was the fourth straight year running, and it's something the Kings always love being a part of.
"The players love it," said Christian Laughland, Marketing Director and Media Relations for the Kings. "All of the kids come up to the players and they want the players to sign things, and read to them. The Kings are really big role models in this community. That's why the Kings and the Friendship Centre partnered for the program, because it brings the kids and players together, and it humbles the players a little bit."
The schools included this season were: Barker Elementary School, Smith Jackson Elementary School, Ecole Macneill Elementary School, Henderson Elementary School, and Whitmore Elementary School.
A&W was also a sponsor for the school visits.
The program will return next October for its 5th Anniversary.
