The Grandview Comets have a chance to move on to the North Central Hockey League final with a win at home tonight over the Russell Rams. Grandview leads the best of five series 2-0. With a victory the Comets will go on to face the Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks who advanced the to the league final last night after beating Minnedosa. Game time this evening in Grandview is 8:30.

Last Call

The Dauphin Kings have made it on to the final CJHL Top 20 Rankings of the 2013-14 season. This week the Manitoba Junior Hockey League club is ranked 16th overall among all the Junior ‘A’ teams across Canada. This week sees the Kings hit the ice for practice as they get set for the Sher-Wood Division Semi Final against either the Wayway Wolverines or OCN Blizzard. That best of three Survivor Series gets going tonight in OCN (7:00pm).

The Manitoba Winter Games march on today in Morden & Winkler. The Parkland won their first medal yesterday thanks to Laurier's Jeremy Boerchers who won bronze in the Juvenile Cross Country Ski 7.5 kilometer Classic Interval Start. Former Parkland Ranger POW In WHL

Roblin's Jayce Hawryluk has been named the WHL's Player of the Week for the second time this season. Hawryluk scored six goals and added four assists for 10 points along with a +6 rating in three games over the past week, helping the Wheat Kings post a 2-0-0-1 record in that span. The former Parkland Ranger currently leads the team in scoring with 24 goals and 64 points in 58 games.

Monday Sports Notes

The Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games continue today in Morden and Winkler and a handful of Parkland teams are in play. The Male Hockey team tries to bounce back from a loss yesterday when they face Winnipeg Gold. Meanwhile both Curling teams have two games today under the same schedule. First they face Team Interlake, then they go head to head with Eastman. Other events going on include Cross Country Skiing and Ringette. Listen to CKDM for results.
