Manitoba has issued a flood watch for the Duck Mountains, Swan River, The Pas and northern portions of Lake Manitoba and Lake Winnipeg.
A major storm system dumped lots of rain with more than 100 millimetres possible in southwestern Manitoba by the end of the day yesterday.
Up to 120 millimetres of rain is expected along the northern edge of the lakes.
Meanwhile, Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for some northern areas of the province around Thompson and Flin Flon.
Forecasters are warning that the major hurricane that has caused at least 11 deaths in the Caribbean this week is now taking aim at the Bahamas.
Strong winds, heavy rains and a dangerous storm surge are starting to spread over the Bahamas as menacing Hurricane Matthew approaches.
And it's possible that Matthew could come very near Florida's east coast by tomorrow night.
Matthew's damage in Haiti yesterday isn't fully known yet because of washed out roads and cut power and phone lines.
Trial Over Decomposed Children Found in Storage Locker Entering Closing Arguments
Closing arguments will begin today in Winnipeg in the trial of a woman charged with hiding the remains of six infants in a storage locker.
Forty-two-year-old Andrea Giesbrecht has been free on bail since she was arrested in October 2014.
Court has heard most of the remains found in the storage locker were in white garbage bags that were inside other bags and containers -- and in various stages of decomposition.

Grandview's fall craft and trade show hits the GACC October 15th.
Lisa Boughton says it's one of the first fall craft shows in the area and it kicks off the Christmas shopping season.
"It just brings in a lot of locally made crafts, baking, paintings, photography, we even have princess dresses this year. So there's jewelry and soaps and lotions-- just a good variety of everything that will catch somebody's attention with something they desperately need."
