The Dauphin Kings suffered their first extra time loss of the season Friday, a 4-3 OT decision to the OCN Blizzard at Credit Union Place.

The outcome probably should have been much different for Dauphin. In the mid stages of the third period the club was leading 3-2 and gained a nine minute power play, but they were unable to score on it. The Blizzard then scored late in the frame to send the contest to OT where they eventually won.

For a good amount of the night the Kings seemed flat and couldn't really get much going in the offensive zone. There were a number of bright spots for Dauphin Friday night though. Tyler Garrioch played very well defensively and Jarrod Schamerhorn (7-5) stood tall in net. Schamerhorn made numerous key saves, especially in the second period when his team was under siege. In total he turned aside 26 of OCN's 30 shots. The Kings had 25, with most coming in the third period (12).
