The Dauphin Kings have suffered their third straight loss.

Playing for the first time since January 9, some uncharacteristic errors held the team back in a 5-2 loss against the Swan Valley Stampeders. Following a goal from Carter Cockburn, Dauphin owned the final 90 seconds of the first as Kaden Bryant and Jeriah Shantz scored to give the club a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

That was it; however, as the Stampeders scored the next four goals in the game, one into an empty net as they secured the three-goal win.

Keaton Woolsey got the start for Dauphin and turned away 35 of the 39 shots he faced.

“We made some errors  and I think perhaps we were a bit rusty, not playing in several days,” said Jeriah Shantz. “We’re looking forward to this weekend, we’re motivated.”

Dauphin opens a home-and-home on Friday at Tundra Oil & Gas Place.
