The Parkland U18 Rangers held their year end banquet to officially wrap up the 2023-24 season.
Hayden Seib was named the team's Most Valuable Player. The 18-year-old scored 16 times and had 24 assists this past season to lead the team with 40 points. It was a new career-high for Seib after he posted 36 points last year.
Most Improved: Cade Legaarden
The Grandview native finished second in team scoring with 32 points. It was a breakout year for Cade after posting seven points last season. Legaarden became a player that stepped up in the team's biggest moments.
Skill & Sportsmanlike Award: Alex Campbell
It was a great rookie season for Campbell, who scored four times and had six assists.
Campbell, like Legaarden, stepped up in big moments and has a bright career ahead.
Defensive Player of the Year Award: Sam Swanton
This award comes as no surprise. Sam was the team's captain this year and was relied upon in any situation. The Dauphin star scored two goals while adding 14 assists.
Sam also played a pair of games with the Dauphin Kings, one of which came in game one of the Turnbull Cup playoffs against the Blizzard.
Hardest Worker/Team Guy Award: Maddox Shindle
Maddox missed some time this year due to injury, but when he was on the ice, he was excellent on the back end. Shindle also had a knack for moving the puck up the ice to create offence for the team.
He had an impressive seven goals and 23 points. Shindle also signed his Letter of Intent with the Virden Oil Capitals.
Rookie of the Year Award: Quinten Fisk
Fisk showed outstanding growth throughout the season in his first year with the U18 club.
Across 44 games, Quinten scored nine times while adding eight assists.
The Rangers also bid farewell to their graduating players. Maddox Shindle, Ethan McMullan, Hayden Seib, Andrew Pidskalny, Cash Clarkson, and Linden Smigelsky all wore the Blue & White with great pride and represented the Parkland region extremely well over the years.
