Chad Facey knows how it feels, Ryan Horn knows how it feels, and Dale Murray knows how it feels.

Those are just three of the players that have won the Men's Open at the Gilbert Plains Country Club and you can etch your name into the history books this Saturday. The event will take over the course as some of the region's top golfers tee it up in a one-day stroke play event.

The entry fee for members of the GPCC is just $50. That includes your round, a chance at prizes, and a meal afterwards. Cart is additional and that costs $22.50 per seat. If you are not a member, you're welcome to play; however, the fee increases to $80.

"We have a new trophy this year, there will be equal flights," said Christian Laughland. "We have a water ball worth $100 and there will also be a prize for the highest foursome. Low foursome prize as well, so some pretty awesome prizes up for grabs."

There will also be four closest-to-the-hole prizes on each of the par 3 and that'll net you $250 if you hit it closest.

You can book your spot in the event by calling 548-3030. Registration opens at 8:30 on Saturday morning and a shotgun start will follow at 10. You can register as a single, a twosome, a threesome, or a full foursome.

The course is in amazing shape right now, we're expecting a great day," ended Laughland.
