Allan McDonald will be looking to go two-for-two in Golf Manitoba events this summer.

He's part of the field that will compete in the Nott Autocorp Men's Amateur Championship at the Rossmere Golf and Country Club. The three-round event opens Monday morning and concludes Wednesday evening.

Five players from the Parkland will also tee it up at the event in a field that features 112 players. The field also includes three-time champion Braxton Kuntz. Kuntz, who plays collegiately at Nicholls State University, has won the event three straight years. He won the 2021 event in Neepawa, 2022 at the Elmhurst Golf & Country Club, and he won last year at the Oak Island Golf Club. He will be looking to make it four straight amateur championships next week.

Here is who will play from the Parkland:

Derek Benson - McCreary Golf & Country Club:
The McCreary native is coming off an impressive performance at the mid-amateur championships earlier this month. After opening with a five-over 77, Benson drained five birdies en route to a second-round 70. He then shot 77 in the third round to finish in a tie for 23rd. Derek's game is in great form and he will look to make some noise going up against the best amateur players in the province.

Eric Prokopowich - Dauphin Lake Golf Club:
Eric's run at Golf Manitoba's match play championships earlier this season was one that he will not forget. He was well prepared and dialled in. After a two-over 73 in his qualifying round, the Dauphin star went on quite the run. He advanced to the semi-finals in that event where he came up short against Thomas Scott.

Thomas Scott - Dauphin Lake Golf Club
Just like Eric, Thomas went on quite the run at the match-play event. Thomas shot a one-over in his qualifying round and then opened up the match-play portion of the event with a dominating 6&5 win as the seventh seed. He then rallied off wins against Doug Penner, Kaleb Lambert, and Prokopowich. Thomas then narrowly came up short against Marco Trstenjak.

Jackson Delaurier - Dauphin Lake Golf Club:
Only nine other golfers recorded rounds of either par or under par. Delaurier was the 10th as he played some very steady golf in shooting an even-par 72 in round two of Golf Manitoba's junior provincial championships last week. Delaurier finished in 17th place which has him feeling great heading to the Rossmere Golf & Country Club. It's a longer course that requires precision and accuracy, two traits that Delaurier certainly has.

Hayden Delaloye - Neepawa Golf & Country Club:
Just like Jackson, Hayden is coming off a strong performance at the junior boys' provincial championships last week. He was also Mr. Consistency as he fired back-to-back 75s in the first two rounds before wrapping up his event with a 77. Delaloye ended up finishing in a tie for ninth.

It's set to be an exciting week of golf at the Rossmere Golf & Country Club, so stay tuned for updates.
