It was a battle between two of the top teams in the Westman High School Hockey League and it certainly lived up to the hype.
It was a testy battle, one that needed a shootout and in a Battle of the Parkland, it was the Swan Valley Tigers that came out on top. The Tigers beat the Dauphin Clippers, 4-3, in a shootout on Saturday night at Credit Union Place.
Boston Karlson scored once for Dauphin while Ronin Mouck added two. Jax Penner, Rylan Laderoute, and Tucker Thompson did the scoring for Swan Valley in regulation. At 23-5-0-2, the Clippers have 48 points and are in second place in the league, three points ahead of Swan Valley.
However, the Tigers (22-3) have four games in hand. These two teams will clash again on Thursday night in Swan River.
