The Parkland U-18 Rangers kept it closer on Sunday.

However, it wasn't enough to earn any points. The Rangers were downed by the Winnipeg Wild, 2-1, at the Hockey for All Centre. The Rangers had just 16 shots while Piet Mierau was excellent for the Rangers turning away 40 shots.

Parkland went 0-for-6 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill. With 48 points, the Rangers are in a tie for sixth with the Pembina Valley Hawks. The Interlake Lightning and Eastman Selects are tied with 47 and occupy eighth and ninth place.

Next up for the Rangers is Wednesday when they head to Brandon to play the Wheat Kings.
