A pair of Parkland Rangers bantam AAA Hockey players are on their way to the under 16 Program of Excellence spring tournament.
Garrett Hrechka and Matt Boguski will be taking part in the tournament this weekend in Winnipeg.
Rangers Head Coach Terry Laquette describes what the tournament does for the kids.
"What it is, is a tryout. It's the first step for a tryout for Team Manitoba. What it's going to compose of is the top 2002 born players in Manitoba, the top 102 (have their tryouts) this weekend, and then get to the 40 camp, and from the 40 camp they'll go down to 28. Then the team selection will be in October."
The Program of Excellence camp also serves as a solid chance for scouts to pick up players for Junior A and Major Junior teams.
