Crocus Plains School and Maryland School in Brandon are on lockdown.

The Brandon Police Service says they're currently investigating an incident in the area of 1st street and Maryland Ave. They ask that people avoid traveling in the area as there are a number of streets blocked off.

They say that they were advised that several people had left a residence on Cornwallis Cres. and could be armed with firearms. Officers are conducting a thorough search of Crocus Plains for safety reasons.

This is a developing story and the Brandon Police Service is expected to continue giving updates as they become available.
