The next time you throw a rock at the Dauphin Curling Club, it could have your name on it.

As the Dauphin Curling Club gets set to replace its handles on the rocks, they are allowing community members to purchase a rock handle. This means that if you purchase a $200 handle, you can have your name engraved on it. You are also able to put another name on it. The rocks will then be used at the club.

Currently, many people have been purchasing the handles 'In Memory Of'.

"It's also a fantastic sponsorship opportunity," said Morgan Kropelnicki. "The handles will be used for about 10 to 15 years."

If you are interested, you can text or call Morgan at 204-572-5744. Morgan first contacted families with their names on the existing handles. Members of the curling club were then sent an email and 71 handles have already been purchased.

That means there are still 25 for purchase, but they are expected to go fast.

Money for this fundraiser will be going towards upgrades to the new Reverse Osmosis system, which is slated to be installed later this summer.

"The one that we have in place right now is really old and it doesn't allow much wiggle room," ended Kropelnicki. "Once the new one is installed, the maintenance staff are going to be able to flood and give all of our curlers ideal conditions."

Rock handles will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis and as mentioned, they are expected to be sold very quickly.
