The Parkland Rangers season was a tale of two halves.
In the first half of the season, the young team had to adjust to the speed and style of play in Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey.

In the second half, only the Eastman Selects gained more points in the standings, and only the top 2 teams had a better second half record wise.

Head Coach Brad Dupasquier describes what is on the way for the team.

"The immediate future is we practice right through March, try to get people ready for their Spring Camps, or Junior Spring Camps whether it be WHL, or MJHL, or SJHL. We're going to have some fitness testing in there so we can evaluate and compare when we come back in the fall to see if people have been putting in the time and effort off the ice."

While the team got swept in the first round of the Playoffs by the Winnipeg Wild, Dupasquier is looking at the positive.

He says next year`s team will be a talented bunch.

"Hopefully, again, everybody comes back, because the experience gained from these 15 and 16 year olds that never played in AAA Midget before, over the last half of the season and in particular the playoff push, is really invaluable. Hopefully everybody comes back, it would give us a really good core."

Manitoba Midget AAA Playoffs continue, as the Yellowhead Chiefs take on the Brandon Wheat Kings in round 2 of their playoff series.
