The city of Dauphin will have the opportunity to embrace artistic culture this weekend.

Saturday marks day one of Dauphin's Arts Fest with with an artisan market and Canada 1-50 Mosaic Painting scheduled for 10 am at the Watson Art Centre.

Organizer Martijn van Luijn is excited about the upcoming festival, and is glad to bring it back to the Dauphin community.

"We talked for quite a while about bringing the adjudicated festival of the performing arts. For years and years it used to be in Dauphin. And, it is an adjudicated festival, but there's all kinds of disciplines, with mostly children, but sometimes adults would perform their instruments in front of an adjudicator. This use to be a very big thing in Dauphin, but it hasn't been here for ten years."

The festival runs until next Wednesday. For more information go to dauphinartsfest.com.
