The Gilbert Plains Municipality continues to work on getting the water flowing out of urban ditches.

According to Councillor Jerry Sherman of the Gilbert Plains Municipality, there are a number of challenges faced, when it comes to the issue of drainage in the town.

"In the town limits, we are finding that the culverts are a lot smaller, and some of them are freezing up. The guys(Public Works) are out thawing them two or three times to keep the water going, because there just isn't enough flow of water. And yet, there's too much flow to leave it."

Four roads were closed earlier, however some have since been reopened.

Some roads still need repairs and maintenance, so it is advised to drive with care and caution.
